This afternoon, we decided to go for a family outing to Tidbinbilla National Park, which is about 20 minutes drive from our house. The park was devasted by bushfires about 3 years ago. The scars from the fires were still evident but there is alot of new, green growth. We noticed however, that some of the ponds in the park have dried up. Sarah drove us to the park. She drove confidently all the way, and we arrived safely! She'll be sitting for her driving test soon-maybe next week. Anyway, we decided to do the walk around the wetlands (took about 1/2 hr or so). There were some ducks, a swan and afew pelicans, but the birdlife was noticeably less spectacular than what it used to be before the fires. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the walk (fresh air, exercise) and I took the opportunity to take a quick family portrait along the way.
